Gabru, starring Sunny Deol, has been postponed once again and will no longer release on May 8 as previously scheduled. According to multiple reports, the makers are expected to announce a new release date in the coming days.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Gabru has been postponed and won’t arrive in cinemas on May 8. The makers plan to lock the new release date in a few days, after which they’ll make an official announcement.”

This marks the second delay for the film. It was initially slated for a March 13 release before being pushed to May 8, and has now been postponed again.

Earlier Delay Linked to Release Clashes

The film’s first postponement from March 13 was reportedly influenced by scheduling factors, including the holy month of Ramadan and a potential box office clash with Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which was set to release shortly after.

With the latest shift, the May 8 slot will now feature films like Aakhri Sawal and Dadi Ki Shaadi, further reshaping the release calendar.

Salman Khan’s Extended Cameo

The film has also generated attention for featuring an extended cameo by Salman Khan. According to reports, the actor filmed his role over a year ago.

A source previously revealed, “There was a requirement for a star, and the makers knew that Salman Khan fit the bill completely. Salman was approached, and he loved the part and its contribution to the film.”

The cameo reportedly includes three scenes and is described as “all heart… adorable and also highly entertaining.”

Story and Creative Team

Directed by Shashank Udapurkar and produced by Vishal Rana, Gabru is described as an action-drama with a strong emotional core.

The narrative follows the journey of Sunny Deol’s character and a child artist, both dealing with personal struggles. Their evolving bond forms the emotional backbone of the story, focusing on themes of resilience and human connection.

High Expectations After Recent Box Office Success

Sunny Deol enters Gabru with significant momentum following the success of Gadar 2, Jaat, and the ₹300 crore-plus grosser Border 2. This run has elevated expectations around his upcoming releases.

Looking ahead, the actor also has Lahore 1947, produced by Aamir Khan and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, slated for release in August, along with Ramayana, where he is set to portray Lord Hanuman.

Awaiting New Release Date and Teaser

With the teaser announcement confirmed, anticipation remains high among fans for the first official glimpse of Gabru. The final release date is expected to play a key role in determining the film’s box office trajectory, especially amid a crowded release slate between June and August.
