Komal Rani Swarnkar has responded to the speculation surrounding her alleged relationship with Govinda, saying their public appearances together are connected to their upcoming film Roopa and not a romantic announcement.

In a series of Instagram Stories, Komal addressed celebrities who had commented on her personal life and her association with Govinda. She questioned why their attention had turned to her relationship rather than what she described as serious national issues.

“Recently, I have seen some celebrities openly commenting on Govinda Ji and my personal life and our character. Yet I have never seen them come forward so strongly to express their opinion on any serious issue, whether it was terrorism, politics, the death of actors or even another actor’s multiple marriages. Why, then, has our personal life suddenly become such a public spectacle that everyone feels entitled to comment on it?” she wrote.

Komal also defended her appearances with Govinda, pointing to their work together on Roopa. The film was announced in July 2026, according to the supplied source material, and is set to release in early 2027.

“Since when did going before Ganpati Bappa alongside my Hero and praying for the success of my upcoming Film, Roopa, become a matter of shame, a national issue or ‘Dikhawa’ for others?” she wrote.

She added, “We announced our film ‘Roopa’, not a romantic affair.”

Komal questioned why their appearance together should be interpreted as evidence of a personal relationship rather than film promotion. She said the two would continue to be seen together because they are working on the same project.

“We are working together, and we will continue to be seen together. If that bothers anyone, let them burn,” she wrote.

Her statement then turned toward unnamed actresses whom she accused of trying to remain relevant by commenting on other people’s controversies. Komal claimed that some actresses whose careers and box-office performances had declined were using such disputes to stay in the public eye.

“Some actresses in the film industry, whose careers have gone cold, whose films are no longer working at the box office, seem to have nothing left except their washed-out brand tags. They are trying to stay relevant by sticking their noses into other people’s ongoing controversies and trying desperately to keep themselves in the limelight,” she wrote.

Komal also rejected criticism concerning sindoor, marriage and Indian traditions. She said she had no interest in receiving such advice from women whom she accused of mocking sindoor or whose marriages, she alleged, were themselves facing problems.

“I have no interest in taking lessons on sindoor, marriage, or our Indian culture and traditions from women who themselves mock sindoor, whose own marriages are falling apart, and who cannot even uphold the sanctity of their own marital relationships,” she wrote.

She further said she did not care whether her critics considered her a good or bad person. Komal alleged that the actresses were using her as a scapegoat for frustrations connected to their own marriages and described them as “man-eaters,” while accusing them of damaging their husbands’ dignity and reputation.

She also urged her critics to stop associating themselves with her name and warned that their own pasts could eventually come to light.

The comments followed criticism and discussion from other members of the film industry. Kashmera Shah had taken to Instagram to express support for Sunita Ahuja amid the controversy surrounding Govinda and Komal. Divya Khossla Kumar also shared an Instagram note questioning Govinda and Komal’s public appearance at Lalbaugcha Raja and later raised questions about Komal wearing sindoor during the visit.

Govinda has not confirmed or denied the relationship speculation. Komal, meanwhile, has framed her appearances with him around their professional association and upcoming film Roopa.
