Yami Gautam has said that the massive success of Dhurandhar has not changed her or filmmaker Aditya Dhar, emphasizing that both remain grounded and focused on meaningful storytelling.

Success Has Not Changed Them, Says Yami Gautam

Speaking in an interview, Yami Gautam stated that personal values have remained unchanged despite the film’s record-breaking performance. She credited Aditya Dhar’s personality for keeping them grounded.

“Nothing has changed us as people. That also comes from Aditya and the kind of person he is – very unaffected and extremely humble,” she said. She added that they have remained steady through both highs and lows without letting emotions take over.

Gratitude and Spiritual Beliefs

Yami Gautam also highlighted the role of spirituality in their lives. She said both she and Aditya Dhar remain thankful and believe in staying patient.

“Both of us are extremely thankful to God. For us, spirituality is very important; we believe in the Almighty. Good things happen to good people. What’s meant for you may be delayed but never denied,” she said.

‘Dhurandhar’ Success Reflects Shift in Audience Preferences

The actress pointed out that the success of Dhurandhar signals a broader shift in the film industry. She stressed that audiences are responding to strong storytelling rather than just star power.

“This is why I said it was always a director’s medium – it was always script and all those basic things that make a film a film. The basics are back, so that’s a massive shift,” she said.

She also noted that increasing theatre footfall shows audiences are ready for quality content. “People thronging to theatres tells you – we are ready; we want you to make amazing films. We’ll watch, and yes, we’ll come repeatedly,” she added.

About the ‘Dhurandhar’ Franchise

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar features a large ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal.

The first part was released on December 5, while its sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, was released on March 19, 2026. Both films performed strongly at the box office, with the sequel surpassing the lifetime collection of the original within a short period.

Focus on Script-Driven Cinema

Yami Gautam’s comments underline a growing emphasis on content-driven films in Bollywood. She suggested that the industry is returning to fundamentals, where storytelling plays a central role in a film’s success.

Her remarks position Dhurandhar not just as a commercial hit, but as an example of how strong scripts can draw audiences back to theatres.
