Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 will arrive in cinemas on March 5, 2027, with the makers announcing a new release date for the comedy sequel starring Anupam Kher and Boman Irani. The film was previously scheduled to release on August 28, 2026.
The announcement, made by the makers on October 13, came with a new poster featuring members of the returning cast. The revised date places the sequel just days before the expected Eid 2027 release window for Salman Khan’s Monster, raising the possibility of a box-office clash.
The makers have not disclosed the reason for postponing the film.
In their social media announcement, the team wrote, “Deal पक्की! The Khoslas are ready to take possession of cinemas with #KhoslaKaGhosla2, arriving on the big screen on 5th March 2027!”
Anupam Kher, Boman Irani return with original cast
The sequel reunites several actors from the 2006 film, including Anupam Kher, who returns as Kamal Kishore Khosla, and Boman Irani, who reprises his role as property dealer Khurana.
Tara Sharma, Ranvir Shorey, Kiran Juneja and Parvin Dabas are also returning. Ravi Kishan and Divya Khosla Kumar join the cast as new additions.
Ravi Kishan previously addressed speculation about his role after Boman Irani was absent during the initial days of filming. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Kishan said, “Everyone is there. I am not replacing him (Boman Irani). Mine is a new character. The script is amazing. All my fans will get to see me in a very different avatar.”
Anupam Kher has also spoken about his attachment to the project. Announcing the new poster on Instagram, the actor described the original film as one of the projects capable of making both a movie and its characters memorable for years.
He also teased the sequel’s central rivalry, writing, “The Khoslas will meet Khurana again… and the game of chess will begin!”
Will Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 clash with Salman Khan’s Monster?
The March 5 release date puts Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 close to the anticipated Eid 2027 window for Monster, starring Salman Khan.
Eid is expected to fall on March 10, 2027, according to the supplied reports, although the precise theatrical release date for Monster remains unconfirmed. The film could arrive on March 5 or on a date closer to the festival, leaving open the possibility of a direct clash or releases separated by several days.
A simultaneous release would put the comedy sequel in competition with a major Salman Khan film during a festive period associated with several of the actor’s theatrical releases. However, the available information does not establish that the two films will open on the same day.
The release plans for Spirit, starring Prabhas and Triptii Dimri, have also drawn attention. One supplied report suggests that the film has been postponed, but the available material does not establish a confirmed new date or conclusively link the reported change to Khosla Ka Ghosla 2.
A sequel to the 2006 comedy
Directed by Dibakar Banerjee, the original Khosla Ka Ghosla was released on September 22, 2006. It followed a middle-class Delhi family trying to reclaim a plot of land fraudulently taken over by a powerful property dealer.
The film combined family disagreements, humour and an elaborate plan to outwit the dealer. Its portrayal of an ordinary family’s struggle over property helped it develop a cult following over the years.
The sequel is directed by Priya Mishra and Prashant Bhagia. It is produced by T-Series Films and Tandav Films, with Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Savita Raj Hiremath and Raj Hiremath associated with the production.
Kher previously shared that he had completed a schedule of the film, expressing gratitude to the cast, crew and production team.
With its March 5, 2027, release now announced, the sequel is set to bring the Khosla family and Khurana back to cinemas. Whether its opening will coincide with Salman Khan’s Monster remains to be seen.
