Singer-songwriter Rabbi Shergill has made a notable return to film music with his latest track Talash, featured in Main Actor Nahin Hoon starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Directed by Aditya Kripalani, the film is scheduled for a theatrical release on May 8, 2026. The song has already begun drawing attention for its emotional tone and narrative relevance.

A Song Rooted in Loneliness and Connection

Talash explores themes of loneliness, longing, and emotional connection—elements that closely mirror the film’s storyline. The narrative follows two individuals in different cities who connect during an online audition, gradually confronting their personal struggles and vulnerabilities.

Speaking about the track, Shergill said :

“It’s amazing to see how a piece of music can acquire new dimensions when it becomes part of a brilliant film like this. Here’s wishing them all the luck!”

Director Aditya Kripalani also emphasised the song’s narrative importance, stating that it reflects “loneliness and how relationships can help us change for the better.”

Nawazuddin Siddiqui Praises the Track

Nawazuddin Siddiqui expressed his admiration for Shergill’s work and the new song.

“‘Bullah ki janaa main kaun’ is one of my favourite songs. So when Aditya and Sweta told me they have a song by Rabbi for our film, I was excited, and then when I heard ‘Talash’, it was so beautiful,” he said.

The actor’s response adds to the growing appreciation for the track, which is being seen as a key emotional element of the film.

A Personal Collaboration for the Director

For Aditya Kripalani, collaborating with Shergill marked a significant milestone. He revealed a long-standing admiration for the singer’s work, even sharing that a line from Shergill’s song Tere Bin is tattooed on his arm.

“So for me, it’s a milestone in my career as a storyteller,” he said, highlighting the personal significance of the collaboration.

Film Storyline and Cast

Main Actor Nahin Hoon also stars Chitrangada Satarupa and tells the story of Mouni, an actor in Mumbai, and Adnan Baig, a retired banker in Frankfurt.

Their interaction begins as a virtual audition but gradually evolves into a deeply personal journey, as they navigate emotional truths across cities through video calls.

The film is written, directed, and produced by Aditya Kripalani, and co-produced by Sweta Chhabria Kripalani and Faizuddin Siddiqui.
