French President Macron Shares PM Modi Visit Video Set to Dhurandhar Track ‘Aari Aari’

French President Emmanuel Macron brought a Bollywood-inspired element to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to France by sharing a social media video set to Aari Aari, a popular track from Dhurandhar. The post came after the two leaders met in Nice for discussions focused on expanding cooperation across technology, trade, innovation, defence and other strategic sectors.
After holding bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the French Riviera city of Nice, Macron shared a short video montage on social media featuring highlights from the visit. The clip showed the two leaders greeting each other with a handshake and a hug, alongside moments from Modi’s engagements in the city, with Aari Aari playing in the background.
The post quickly drew attention for its blend of diplomacy and Indian popular culture. Macron also shared a selfie with the Indian Prime Minister and captioned it with a single word: “Nice!”—a reference to both the host city and the cordial atmosphere surrounding the meeting.
Modi responded to the post, writing, “Nice to have met you in Nice. A productive first leg indeed. The India-France partnership will keep scaling new heights. See you in Evian and Paris…”
Leaders Discuss Strategic and Economic Cooperation
The social media exchange followed a day of high-level engagements between the two leaders.
According to Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, the discussions covered a broad range of areas including education, mobility, trade and investment, defence, security, space cooperation, civil nuclear energy, technology and people-to-people ties.
India and France also announced an innovation roadmap and an artificial intelligence framework aimed at strengthening collaboration in emerging and critical technologies.
The meeting in Nice was the first between Modi and Macron since India and France elevated their relationship to a Special Global Strategic Partnership.
Bharat Innovates 2026 Takes Center Stage
A major focus of the visit was technology and innovation.
Modi and Macron jointly inaugurated the Bharat Innovates 2026 Conclave in Nice, bringing together startups, investors, entrepreneurs and policymakers from India, France and other countries.
The event focused on areas such as artificial intelligence, space, venture capital, trade and emerging technologies. Ahead of the inauguration, Modi also interacted with investors and venture capitalists participating in the programme.
Speaking at the conclave, the Prime Minister highlighted India’s long tradition of innovation and its growing role in technology-driven sectors.
Thirteen Outcomes Announced
The bilateral discussions produced 13 outcomes aimed at deepening cooperation between the two countries.
Among the key announcements were a declaration on high-speed rail cooperation, a security arrangement concerning classified information and plans to expand India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) network to airports in Paris and Nice.
Defence collaboration also featured prominently in the talks. The two sides discussed strengthening cooperation in defence manufacturing, with a focus on increasing local content and advancing joint projects.
A Familiar Use of Bollywood by Macron
This is not the first time Macron has used music from Dhurandhar while highlighting India-France ties.
During his visit to India in February, the French President shared a recap video featuring another song from the film, Na De Dil Pardesi Nu, accompanied by the message, “Thank you India!”
His latest post continues that approach, combining cultural references with diplomatic messaging as India and France seek to expand cooperation across strategic, technological and economic sectors.
