Farah Khan Reacts as Rakesh Bedi Questions Her Casting Choices in Candid Chat

Actor Rakesh Bedi left filmmaker Farah Khan momentarily speechless during a candid exchange on her YouTube vlog, where he jokingly questioned why she had never cast him in any of her films.
During the conversation, Bedi remarked, “I am also very angry with you because you never took me in any of your films.” In response, Farah asked him to point out a role from her filmography that would have suited him, referencing performances like Satish Shah in Main Hoon Na.
Bedi dismissed the reasoning with humor, saying, “Do dialogues bahut common hai humari industry main… ‘Agli film mein pakka lunga!’” Farah laughed and echoed the same line, promising him a role in her next project, prompting a shared moment of laughter between the two.
Success of Dhurandhar boosts Bedi’s popularity
The interaction comes at a time when Bedi is enjoying renewed recognition following his performance in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar. His portrayal of a manipulative Pakistani politician has been widely praised, with the film emerging as a major box office success.
The franchise, led by Ranveer Singh, has reportedly broken records, with its sequel crossing significant milestones globally. Bedi’s character, Jameel Jamali, undergoes a dramatic arc, ultimately revealed as an Indian spy embedded deep within Pakistan.
Bedi’s daughter, Ritika, shared an emotional reaction to his performance, recalling how she hugged him and cried after watching the film. His wife also expressed happiness that his success arrived at a time when their daughters could witness his recognition.
Farah Khan revisits early Bollywood memories
The vlog also turned nostalgic as Farah recalled her early days and long-standing friendship with Bedi. She shared anecdotes about how he, along with actors like Neena Gupta, Farooq Shaikh, Satish Shah, and Supriya Pathak, would frequently visit Javed Akhtar’s home during their Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) days.
“FTII se yeh log roz aate the Javed uncle aur Honey aunty ke ghar free ka khaana aur free ki daaru peene,” Farah said, adding that these gatherings were where she first bonded with many of them. She noted she was around 15 at the time, while Bedi was about 25.
