Alia Bhatt’s Don’t Be Shy Sets September 25 OTT Premiere

Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt-backed Don’t Be Shy will premiere globally on Prime Video on September 25, 2026, bringing a new-age coming-of-age romantic comedy led by four newcomers. The film follows a young woman navigating friendship, first love, heartbreak and the uncertainties of growing up.

Written and directed by Sreeti Mukerji, the film stars Aarushi Bajaj as Shyamili “Shy” Das, alongside Ansh Duggal as Dhruv, Bianca Arora as Tara and Piyush Khati as Mayank. The story centres on 20-year-old Shy, who believes she has her future mapped out before an unexpected turn disrupts her plans.

The recently released teaser introduces Shy and her circle through colourful visuals, upbeat music and playful interactions. It establishes the film’s focus on college life, friendship, romance and the complications that come with entering adulthood.

A New Cast Takes Centre Stage

The film marks a prominent screen outing for its four young leads, with Prime Video describing the newcomers as bringing freshness and authenticity to their characters.

Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt produced Don’t Be Shy under their Eternal Sunshine Productions banner. Grishma Shah and Vikesh Bhutani serve as co-producers through Chalkboard Entertainment.

The supporting cast includes Kunaal Roy Kapur, Anurag Basu, Neha Dhupia and Anju Alva Naik in pivotal roles.

Bhatt said the project appealed to Eternal Sunshine Productions because of its coming-of-age perspective and the sincerity of its story. She also highlighted the chemistry and vulnerability of the young cast.

Prime Video’s director and head of originals for SVOD and Amazon MGM Studios India, Nikhil Madhok, called the film one of the platform’s cherished projects and said the four newcomers bring a fresh quality to their roles.

Bianca Arora Makes Her Bollywood Debut

Among the film’s new leads is Bianca Arora, who was born and raised in Chandigarh. Before moving toward acting, Arora had trained to become a pilot, but her plans changed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

She subsequently appeared in a music video and moved to Mumbai in 2022. Arora later completed a three-month acting workshop at Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares and began pursuing opportunities in entertainment.

Her earlier screen work includes a small role in the OTT series 36 Days, as well as Baggu in the Hindi superhero series Power of Paanch, which premiered in 2025. She has also appeared in advertising campaigns and had a brief appearance in the 2021 film Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui.

Arora’s younger sister, Siona Arora, is also a digital creator. Bianca herself built a presence in digital content before moving further into acting.

For Don’t Be Shy, Arora joins Bajaj, Duggal and Khati as part of the film’s central young ensemble.

When and Where to Watch Don’t Be Shy

Don’t Be Shy will stream exclusively on Prime Video from September 25, 2026. The film will be available in Hindi with English subtitles across India and more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

The release expands Eternal Sunshine Productions’ work in streaming following projects including Darlings and the Prime Video series Poacher, while giving Mukerji her first feature as writer-director.
