Ranveer Singh Takes Steps to Resolve ‘Don 3’ Dispute

Actor Ranveer Singh has reportedly initiated efforts to settle his widely discussed fallout with filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani over his exit from Don 3.

According to multiple reports, the actor has agreed to return his signing amount—estimated at approximately ₹10 crore—to the production house Excel Entertainment. The move is being seen as an attempt to bring closure to a dispute that escalated publicly in recent months.

In addition to the refund, Singh has reportedly offered the banner a stake in his upcoming project, tentatively titled Pralay. Details regarding the percentage of this stake remain undisclosed. None of the parties involved have officially confirmed these developments so far.

What Triggered the ‘Don 3’ Fallout

The controversy began after Singh’s sudden exit from Don 3, a high-profile installment in the popular franchise. Reports suggested that the production house sought compensation of around ₹40 crore, citing significant pre-production expenses, scheduling disruptions, and related losses.

Producers maintained that the project had progressed with the actor’s approval at various stages. Singh, on the other hand, was said to have exited due to dissatisfaction with the script, the absence of a bound script, and concerns about the film’s overall management.

As tensions grew, the Producers Guild of India reportedly stepped in to mediate and encourage an amicable resolution rather than legal escalation.

Mediation Talks and Industry Reactions

Amid the dispute, there were brief reports suggesting that Aamir Khan was involved in mediating between the parties. However, those claims were quickly denied, with the actor reportedly “flatly” rejecting any involvement.

Industry discussions around the fallout also highlighted the scale of investment already made into the project, with estimates of pre-production spending ranging from ₹40 crore to over ₹42 crore.

Future of ‘Don 3’ Remains Uncertain

With Singh no longer attached and no official announcements from the makers, Don 3 remains in limbo. Conflicting reports have circulated about potential casting changes, including speculation about Akhtar himself stepping into the lead role, though no confirmation has been issued.

The film’s status continues to be unclear as the reported settlement efforts unfold behind the scenes.
