Rapper Badshah and Punjabi actor Isha Rikhi have announced their separation, five months after getting married in a private ceremony in March 2026. The couple confirmed the split on August 31 through statements shared on Instagram Stories, saying they had mutually decided to go their separate ways and asking people to respect their privacy.
The reason for the separation has not been disclosed. Neither Badshah, whose real name is Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, nor Isha has publicly attributed the split to any specific issue. Badshah shared a statement similar to Isha’s, although his post was later deleted.
From a private relationship to marriage
Badshah and Isha had kept their relationship largely away from the public eye. Reports cited in the supplied sources say the two first met through mutual friends at a party in 2021 and subsequently dated for several years without formally acknowledging their relationship.
Speculation about a possible marriage surfaced publicly in 2023, but Badshah denied those reports at the time. In March 2026, photographs of the rapper participating in traditional wedding ceremonies with Isha circulated online after her mother, Poonam Rikhi, shared pictures from the occasion.
The ceremony was described as an intimate affair attended by close family and friends. Badshah did not publicly confirm the marriage when the photographs emerged.
Isha later addressed the speculation herself during an Instagram Ask Me Anything session. Asked directly whether she was married to Badshah, she confirmed, “Yes, I am married.”
Social media posts fuelled speculation
Questions about the couple’s relationship intensified shortly before their separation was announced. Isha shared a video featuring photographs from her time with Badshah, including holiday and family moments, alongside the message:
“Every storm is a lesson. Every prayer is a hope.”
She subsequently posted an emotional message about remaining silent out of fear and choosing courage. The post referred to her concerns about the influence, power and resources she believed her husband possessed. However, she did not explicitly identify the post as an explanation for the marriage ending.
Isha’s mother also shared cryptic posts about karma and justice, prompting speculation online about whether they were connected to the couple’s relationship. Neither Isha nor her mother explicitly stated that those posts referred to Badshah or the separation.
The couple has now asked the public to refrain from speculation as they move forward separately.
Isha Rikhi’s acting career
Isha Rikhi made her Punjabi film debut with Boys Putt Jattan De in 2013. She subsequently appeared in films including Happy Go Lucky, Mere Yaar Kaminey, What the Jatt and Ardaas. Her Hindi-film credits include Nawabzaade.
Badshah’s previous marriage
The separation marks the end of Badshah’s second marriage. He was previously married to Jasmine Masih in 2012, and they have a daughter, Jessemy. The couple divorced in 2020.
Badshah has built his career as a rapper, singer and music producer, with work spanning Hindi and Punjabi music as well as television appearances and commercial projects.
For now, Badshah and Isha have not provided further details about their decision beyond confirming that they have mutually chosen to part ways.
