Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 has given the actor one of the strongest theatrical runs of his career, with the film crossing the ₹100 crore mark in India within five days of its release. The milestone prompted an emotional note from his wife, Parveen Hashmi, who reflected on the 23-year journey behind the actor’s latest success.

Taking to Instagram, Parveen described the achievement as the result of years of patience, dedication, faith and hard work. She wrote that it had taken Emraan “23 years” to reach this point and recalled how his career had included both rewarding and disappointing Fridays.

According to Parveen, setbacks never stopped the actor from continuing to work. She said he kept showing up, preparing for his projects and believing that his efforts would eventually pay off.

Her post also focused on how Emraan has handled the attention surrounding Awarapan 2. Parveen said she had watched him put his “heart and soul” into his projects and was struck by how calm and grounded he remained despite the film’s strong response.

She also referenced the popular line “Akha Bollywood ek taraf aur Emraan Hashmi ek taraf”, saying it resonated with the actor’s fans and people in the industry.

Parveen Hashmi on Emraan’s discipline

Parveen offered a glimpse into Emraan’s routine away from the cameras, saying she had seen him study scripts, learn dialogues, rehearse scenes and maintain a disciplined approach to his diet and fitness.

She said some of the dialogues he prepared for his work were in Telugu and described his routine as consistent even during holidays. The account was presented as a personal reflection on the preparation she has witnessed throughout his career.

Calling herself one of Emraan’s “biggest critics”, Parveen said the response to Awarapan 2 had left her particularly proud. She ended her message by encouraging people to remain focused and disciplined while pursuing their ambitions.

Awarapan 2’s box office turnaround

The commercial performance of Awarapan 2 marks a striking turnaround from the theatrical fortunes of its predecessor. The 2007 original had a modest theatrical run but later developed a loyal following and cult status.

The sequel has gone well beyond the original film’s reported lifetime collection and crossed ₹100 crore net in India on its fifth day. Trade reports also put its worldwide gross at more than ₹143 crore by that stage.

The film opened in cinemas on August 14, 2026, with Emraan returning as Shivam Pandit. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, Awarapan 2 also stars Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi, with Suvinder Vicky and other actors in supporting roles.

By Day 7, Awarapan 2 had reached nearly ₹108 crore net in India and ₹153.59 crore worldwide, according to a Times of India box-office update, keeping the film on a strong trajectory during its first week.

For Emraan, the performance represents a significant solo box-office milestone. Reports have described Awarapan 2 as his first solo film to cross ₹100 crore in India.

Parveen’s tribute places that commercial achievement in the context of a much longer professional journey, focusing less on the numbers themselves and more on the persistence she says Emraan maintained through the less successful phases of his career.
