Sara Ali Khan Says She Is in No Rush to Marry: ‘Marriages Can Go Wrong’

Sara Ali Khan has said she is in no hurry to get married, explaining that her personal experiences have shaped a practical outlook on relationships and marriage.
In a recent interview with News18, the actor said she believes it is better to wait for the right partner rather than rush into marriage.
“You are a product of your experiences and what you see around you. At the risk of being too serious, I’ve seen that marriages can also go wrong. Toh usse better hai ki aap wait karo aur sahi bande ke saath shaadi karo,” she said.
Sara added that she does not view marriage as something necessary to complete her life.
“And when that happens, that will be the correct time. I think that’s the most important thing. I’ve what it takes to be okay [without being married]. I don’t feel the need to be completed. I’m not looking to be completed,” she said.
Focused on Self-Growth and Career
The actor said her priority at present is personal growth and work. She explained that she wants to become a “complete human being” within herself before entering a serious relationship.
“I want to be a complete human being within myself. And then if I find somebody to celebrate me, cherish me and make me feel even better, that’s fine,” Sara said.
She also spoke about the importance of emotional independence in relationships.
“Looking for this missing piece in you in somebody else isn’t a sustainable thing. You shouldn’t do that. And right now, I want to work,” she added.
Sara said she believes patience matters when it comes to relationships.
“Meanwhile, if the right person has to come, they will. I really do believe that jaldi ka kaam shaitaan ka hota hai. So, I try to not rush these things.”
‘I’m a Green Flag’
When asked whether she thought she could be a “red flag” in a relationship, Sara responded with a mix of honesty and confidence.
“I think I can get into my own head sometimes. But that’s internal, I don’t think it will affect the other person. Other than that, I’m a green flag,” she said.
The actor’s comments also reflected on the influence of her personal experiences. Sara is the daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, who married in 1991 and divorced in 2004 after 13 years together. The former couple have two children, Sara and Ibrahim Ali Khan.
