Fans Welcome Anushka Sharma’s Return in Heera by GIVA Advertisement

Anushka Sharma has returned to screens with a new advertisement for GIVA’s Heera collection, prompting a wave of reactions online from fans who said they were excited to see the actor in front of the camera again after a long gap.
The commercial, released on May 12, gained momentum on social media after clips from the campaign circulated on Reddit and Instagram. Viewers praised Sharma’s screen presence, while others commented that the actor looked noticeably different from her earlier appearances.
Several fans described the ad as a welcome return for the actor, whose last full-fledged film role came in Zero alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.
One social media user wrote, “Damn, seeing (her) on screen after a really long time.” Another commented, “So beautiful that I didn’t even notice that it’s an ad and it was about the jewellery.”
Debate over Anushka Sharma’s appearance
Alongside praise for her return, the advertisement also triggered discussion around Sharma’s appearance. Some viewers described her as “unrecognisable,” while others speculated about makeup, editing, ageing, or cosmetic procedures.
One comment read, “Something is off about her face, not sure what.” Another user questioned whether the change was caused by editing or cosmetic work.
Fans of the actor defended her against the speculation, with several users pointing to natural ageing and the impact of motherhood. One social media user wrote, “As a mother of 2, she looks great.”
Sharma has remained largely away from mainstream film appearances in recent years, though she has frequently been seen supporting husband Virat Kohli during cricket matches, including Indian national team fixtures and Royal Challengers Bengaluru games.
Anushka Sharma’s film career and Chakda ‘Xpress delay
Sharma made her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and went on to establish herself as one of the industry’s leading actors with films including Band Baaja Baaraat, PK, Dil Dhadakne Do and Sanju.
After stepping away from regular acting projects following Zero, she made a cameo appearance in Qala, backed by her production house Clean Slate Filmz.
Sharma also completed filming for Chakda ‘Xpress, a biographical drama based on former Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami. Directed by Prosit Roy and written by Abhishek Banerjee, the project began development in 2019.
Production was delayed after the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted schedules. Sharma also announced her pregnancy during that period. The film later moved ahead with Netflix India attached as the streaming partner, and principal photography was completed between June and December 2022.
Despite filming being completed, Chakda ‘Xpress remains unreleased and has no official release date, trailer, or promotional timeline. Reports cited in the provided sources stated that the project encountered creative and communication issues between Clean Slate Filmz and Netflix during post-production and release planning.
