Aamir Khan Breaks Down at Ek Din Ki Mehfil in Mumbai

Actor-producer Aamir Khan was seen getting emotional at a special event in Mumbai for his upcoming production Ek Din. The moment quickly gained attention after videos surfaced online.
The event, titled Ek Din Ki Mehfil, was a musical evening held ahead of the film’s release on May 1. It featured live performances celebrating the film’s music and story.
Aamir was seated alongside his son Junaid Khan and co-star Sai Pallavi. As the performances unfolded, he appeared visibly moved and was seen wiping away tears.
Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan Comfort Aamir
In videos circulating online, Sai Pallavi was seen speaking to Aamir as he composed himself. Meanwhile, Junaid also briefly interacted with his father during the emotional moment.
The scene reflected a personal milestone for Junaid, who is still early in his career. The film marks an important step for him as a lead actor.
At the same event, Aamir praised Sai Pallavi’s performance. He said she is “the best actress we have in our country today.” He also added humor while speaking about his son, saying, “Junaid ne bhi acha khasa kaam kiya hai.”
About the Film Ek Din
Directed by Sunil Pandey, Ek Din is a romantic drama backed by Aamir Khan Productions. It is co-produced by Mansoor Khan and Aparna Purohit.
The film is a remake of the 2016 Thai movie One Day. It follows a shy young man who struggles to express his love for a colleague.
However, the story takes a turn when the female lead suffers from Transient Global Amnesia. She remembers only the man who saved her life, leading to an unusual romantic journey.
Early Buzz and Unique Release Strategy
The film has also drawn attention for its early advance booking strategy. Bookings opened 39 days before release, which is unusual for a small-scale film.
Aamir explained that the decision aimed to give the film more time to gain traction. He noted that both leads are relatively new to Hindi cinema, which required a longer promotional window.
Meanwhile, Ek Din also marks Sai Pallavi’s debut in Hindi films. The project reunites Aamir Khan and Mansoor Khan as co-producers after years, following classics like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar.
