‘Ucha Lamba Kad Forever’ Brings Back Welcome Nostalgia, Divides Fans Online

The makers of Welcome To The Jungle have released Ucha Lamba Kad Forever, a recreated version of the popular song Uncha Lamba Kad from the 2007 comedy hit Welcome. Featuring Akshay Kumar and Disha Patani, the track revisits one of the franchise’s most recognizable musical moments while introducing it to a new generation of viewers.

Released by Junglee Music, the song retains much of the spirit and visual style of the original, which featured Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif. The refreshed version pairs Akshay with Disha Patani and blends nostalgia with contemporary production and choreography.

Fans Praise the Recreation but Miss Katrina Kaif

The song quickly generated conversation across social media platforms, where reactions ranged from appreciation to criticism. Many viewers welcomed the return of the iconic track and praised the chemistry between Akshay Kumar and Disha Patani.

Several fans described the recreation as a successful revival of a Bollywood classic. One user wrote, “2007 vibes are back ❤️,” while another commented, “The nostalgia factor in this song hits perfectly. It brings back memories while still feeling fresh and exciting.”

Others compared it favorably to other recent song recreations. One fan wrote, “Remake of Uncha Lamba Kad Song is far better than Remake of Chunari Chunari Song.”

At the same time, much of the online discussion centered on Katrina Kaif, whose performance in the original song remains closely associated with the track. Comments such as “Nothing can beat Katrina Kaif version,” “OG Hits Different Katrina ❤️👀,” and “No one can replace Katrina Kaif in Ucha Lamba Kad song” appeared repeatedly across platforms.

Many fans acknowledged Disha Patani’s performance while maintaining that the original version carried a unique charm. Others argued that Katrina’s screen presence and chemistry with Akshay Kumar were key reasons for the song’s enduring popularity.

Mixed Reactions to the Remix

Not all responses were positive. Some viewers felt the recreation lacked the energy and impact of the original, while others questioned Bollywood’s growing reliance on remakes and nostalgia-driven content.

One social media user wrote that the remake failed to capture the charm of the original song, while another criticized the trend of recreating classic Bollywood tracks instead of producing new music.

Despite the criticism, the song has succeeded in reigniting interest in the Welcome franchise and bringing one of its most memorable musical numbers back into public conversation.

Makers on Reimagining a Popular Classic

The recreated version has been composed and arranged by Vikram Montrose, while original composer and singer Anand Raj Anand returned to lend his voice to the song alongside Rubai. The track features additional lyrics by Meggha Bali while retaining portions of the original lyrics written by Sameer.

Speaking about the recreation, Vikram Montrose said, “The original Ucha Lamba Kad holds a special place in the hearts of Bollywood music lovers. The challenge was to retain that nostalgia while giving it a fresh identity that fits the energy of Welcome To The Jungle.”

Meggha Bali echoed a similar sentiment, saying the team’s effort was to preserve the emotional connection audiences have with the original while introducing a contemporary flavour.
