Raj Nidimoru Set for Return to Cinema With Large-Scale Hindi Film, Salman Khan Tipped for Lead Role

Raj Nidimoru has confirmed that he and creative partner Krishna DK are moving ahead with a new big-budget Hindi feature film, adding fresh weight to reports that Salman Khan is set to headline the duo’s long-discussed superhero project.

Speaking to Idle Brain Live, Raj revealed that Raj & DK are preparing to return to theatrical filmmaking after several years focused on streaming content. The filmmaker said the duo will begin work on a Hindi movie this year, while also balancing other projects in development.

“A Hollywood film script has just started, and it’s in the pre-production stage. Another series is in the development. Our Hindi movie almost starts its production,” Raj said during the interview.

Salman Khan Reportedly Attached to Superhero Film

Raj’s confirmation comes months after reports linked Salman Khan to an ambitious superhero film being developed by Raj & DK. The project has been described as a large-scale production designed for a global audience.

Earlier reports stated that filming is expected to begin in October 2026 following extensive pre-visualisation and pre-production work. If finalized as reported, the film would mark Salman Khan’s first full-fledged superhero venture.

While Raj did not publicly name Salman Khan during the interview, the confirmation of a major Hindi feature has reignited discussion around the actor’s reported involvement.

Raj & DK Return to the Big Screen

The filmmaker duo have spent the last several years establishing themselves among India’s most successful streaming creators. Their credits include acclaimed series such as The Family Man, Farzi, Guns & Gulaabs, and Citadel: Honey Bunny.

Their return to feature filmmaking is expected to attract significant attention, particularly given the scale of the reported superhero project and Salman Khan’s association with it.

Female Lead Yet to Be Finalized

Speculation had also linked Samantha Ruth Prabhu to the film. However, reports cited by those close to the project dismissed those claims, stating that the casting process for the female lead remains ongoing.

The makers are expected to finalize the role after evaluating multiple options.

Salman Khan’s Upcoming Slate

Apart from the reported Raj & DK collaboration, Salman Khan has officially announced a project with director Vamshi Paidipally and producer Dil Raju. The film, tentatively titled SVC63, is in development and is targeting an Eid 2027 release.

Khan has also been associated with Matrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace, a project that has faced delays and is expected to arrive at a later date.
