Bobby Deol Dismisses Rumours of Rift With Alia Bhatt on Alpha Set

Bobby Deol has firmly denied reports claiming he had a fallout with Alia Bhatt during the filming of Yash Raj Films’ upcoming spy thriller Alpha. Addressing the speculation, the actor described the rumours as baseless and said he was surprised to see them gain traction online.

Speaking during an appearance on Aap Ki Adalat and in an interview with India TV, Bobby said a friend had sent him screenshots of the reports, leaving him puzzled.

“Even I was shocked when a friend sent me a snapshot of this rumour. Log itne velle hain ki kuch bhi likhke bana dete hain (People have so much free time that they make up and write anything),” he said.

The rumours had suggested that disagreements arose between the actors during the shoot and that producer Aditya Chopra had to intervene. Bobby rejected those claims outright.

Bobby Deol Praises Alia Bhatt’s Work Ethic

Rather than confirming any tension, Bobby spoke warmly about his experience working with Alia and praised her professionalism and preparation for the film’s action sequences.

“It was so nice (working with Alia), she is such a good actress and works so hard. She was so prepared for all the fight sequences. So I didn’t get why people wrote that,” he said.

He also addressed another claim that he was unhappy during production and had been offered another film by Aditya Chopra to smooth things over.

“And then they even wrote that Bobby was so miffed that Aditya Chopra offered him another film. I can’t go around proving a point to everybody. It’s not true,” he added.

Reflecting on the spread of online speculation, Bobby said many social media narratives should be viewed with caution.

“Log Instagram se influenced rehte hai lekin uspe 90 per cent kahaniyaan sahi nahi hoti hai,” he said.

Alpha Brings Together a High-Profile Cast

Alpha stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in the lead roles, with Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor playing key parts. The film is set within Yash Raj Films’ expanding Spy Universe, which includes titles such as Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, Pathaan, War and Tiger 3.

While plot details have been kept under wraps, Bobby has expressed enthusiasm for the project and its female-led action narrative.

Speaking about the film, he said he had always wanted to work with both Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. After sharing screen space with Ranbir in Animal, Bobby said he was delighted to join a project with Alia.

“I’m very fond of Ranbir and Alia, and I always wanted to work with both of them. With Ranbir, I did Animal, and now with Alia, I have now done Alpha. I had the best time working with both of them,” he said.

Bobby also described Alpha as a refreshing addition to Indian cinema, noting that it places two women at the centre of a large-scale action story.

Upcoming Releases

Alpha is scheduled for release in July 2026 as the next chapter in YRF’s Spy Universe. Alongside the film, Bobby Deol is also promoting Bandar, which is scheduled to release on June 5.
