‘Kantara’ is a nightmare for big-budget filmmakers

Recently, released movie ‘Kantara’ has already grossed Rs 150 crores in just 18 days. And it is not slowing down at all at the box office.

The action thriller movie is written and directed by Rishabh Shetty. The movie is originally made in the Kannada language and later dubbed into Hindi, Tamil and Telegu.

This was a small-budget film that was made with Rs 16 crores but it has just set a milestone, that the budget of the film doesn’t matter to the audience. If the film is good people will watch it.

The film is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the Hombale Films banner. The movie star cast includes Rishabh Shetty, Kishore, Sapthami Gowda, and Achyuth Kumar.

 In an interview, Rishabh Shetty said the film is about our land, our roots, and the unheard stories of people. Kantara is a mysterious forest and the story is about that.

Ram Gopal Verma recently said that claimed after Kantara's popularity, "big budget filmmakers" would be uneasy and that the movie business would be paying Rishab Shetty "tuition fees."
