Akshay Kumar has recently signed his debut Marathi film ‘Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat’. The movie is produced by Vaseem Quereshi.

Mahesh Manjrekar is the director of the film and the movie showcases the story of 7 warriors who fulfil the dream of Shivaji Maharaj by bringing Swarajya to reality.

During an event, Akshay said it was a dream role for him. But, it also comes with a huge responsibility of playing the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on the big screen.

He further added, he feels so good to be part of this film as he is going to work with director Mahesh Majrekar for the first time.

Further in the interview, the director of the film stated that it is his dream project and he is working on the film for the last 7 years to do all the research.

Mahesh also added that this is one of the biggest Marathi films that would be released PAN India. He said that Akshay Kumar's presence in the film is very crucial.

The announcement was made after the fifth flop movie for Akshay Kumar this year Ram Setu. Hopefully, next year is good for Akshay as some big films are coming up from his side.

Akshay would next be seen in ‘Selfie’ alongside ushrratt Bharuccha. The film would release in February 2023. Further, he would be seen in the Soorarai Pottru remake alongside Radhika Madan.
