“Laal Singh Chaddha” is a comedy film and a remake of the Hollywood film “Forrest Gump” released in 1994. The movie was shot in more than 100 locations and was made on a budget of Rs 180 crores.
Before the release of the movie, Aamir was seen saying that the movie would not release on any OTT platforms for 6 months after the release of the movie in theatres.
But since the movie has flopped on the box-office the filmmakers and producers have decided to release it on Netflix to recover the initial expenses spent on the movie.
In the first week of the movie's release on Netflix, it is already the second most-watched non-English movie. With more than 6.6 million viewers.
The movie is currently in the top 10 in more than 13 countries across the world. The countries include Bangladesh, UAE, Sri Lanka, Oman, Malaysia and more.
Currently, we are not aware of how much money the movie received by putting the film on Netflix, but the worldwide box office collection is Rs 130 crores.
Let’s see if the movie can break the record of the hit Telugu film starring Alia Bhatt “RRR” which made it in the top 10 for 15 times.
