Actor Sreeleela is navigating a challenging phase in her career following a string of box office disappointments in Telugu cinema. Once considered a rising star, the actor is now looking toward Bollywood as she seeks to regain momentum.

Back-to-Back Flops Stall Tollywood Momentum

Sreeleela’s recent release, Ustaad Bhagat Singh, has underperformed at the box office, marking another setback in an already difficult run. The film joins a growing list of commercial failures, including Robinhood, Junior, Mass Jathara, and Parasakthi.

Despite her reputation for energetic performances and strong dancing skills, the actor’s recent projects have struggled to connect with audiences. Reports also indicate that she currently has no confirmed Telugu projects in hand, raising concerns about her standing in the industry.

Her role in Ustaad Bhagat Singh, where she starred opposite Pawan Kalyan, also drew criticism, further adding to the pressure surrounding her recent film choices.

Shift in Focus: Bollywood Projects Take Center Stage

Amid the slowdown in Tollywood, Sreeleela is actively pivoting toward Hindi cinema. She is set to make her Bollywood debut opposite Kartik Aaryan in an upcoming romantic musical directed by Anurag Basu, expected to release in 2026.

In addition, she is being considered for a role in director Kabir Khan’s upcoming sports drama, also starring Kartik Aaryan. While no official confirmation has been made, sources suggest she is a “top contender” for the female lead.

The film is inspired by the life of Tajamul Islam, India’s youngest kickboxing world champion. Kartik Aaryan is set to play a coach mentoring a young athlete, with the story exploring resilience against challenging circumstances in Kashmir. The project is currently in production and is targeting a 2027 release.

Additional Projects and Industry Position

Beyond Bollywood, Sreeleela also has a project lined up with Dhanush, which could help her re-establish her presence in South Indian cinema.

However, industry reports suggest that producers in Telugu cinema have grown cautious following her recent box office track record. Her reported high remuneration has also been cited as a factor influencing casting decisions.

Addressing Personal Life Speculation

Alongside her professional challenges, Sreeleela has also been in the spotlight for viral claims about her personal life. Addressing reports that described her as a “mother to three children,” the actor clarified that the narrative had been misrepresented.

She stated:

“I keep seeing that ‘mother’ tag being associated with me, but no, motherhood is a journey I haven’t been privileged enough to experience yet.”

Sreeleela explained that while she is connected to children she supports through an ashram, they do not live with her, and she prefers to keep that aspect of her life private.
