Actor Mrunal Thakur has credited Ranveer Singh for playing a pivotal role in her early career, calling him her “lucky charm” during a recent podcast conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia.

Reflecting on her journey, the 33-year-old actor revealed that a commercial she shot with Ranveer marked a turning point in her life. According to her, it was only after the advertisement aired that filmmakers began noticing her.

“My heart is happy. He is my lucky charm. He is the reason why I exist in this industry in the first place,” she said. “When that commercial hit the screens, filmmakers started noticing me… I give my credit to him. This man has really helped me—such a positive person who deserves all the success.”

Praise for Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ Performance

Mrunal also expressed admiration for Ranveer’s performance in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which has reportedly crossed the ₹1,000 crore mark at the global box office.

She highlighted the depth of his portrayal of Hamza Ali Mazari, emphasizing that the performance went beyond conventional heroism.

“The acting was not surface level. It had depth and layers. I didn’t watch it as Ranveer Singh. I only saw Hamza… it was more of a character than a hero,” she said. “I feel incredibly proud of him. He is so hardworking. I wish that whatever he does becomes a blockbuster—he can do everything.”

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film follows an Indian spy navigating the underworld while attempting to dismantle a terror network. The sequel explores Hamza’s origins and rise to power in Lyari.

The ensemble cast includes R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun, and Danish Pandor in key roles.

A Career Shaped by Early Breakthroughs

Mrunal’s revelation sheds light on a lesser-known phase of her career, when she was working as a model before transitioning into films. She has previously gained recognition for projects like Sita Ramam and continues to build a diverse filmography across industries.

Her comments underscore the impact of early opportunities and collaborations in shaping an actor’s trajectory in the competitive film industry.

Upcoming Project: ‘Dacoit’

Mrunal Thakur is now gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Dacoit, where she stars alongside Adivi Sesh and Anurag Kashyap. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on April 10.
