Farah Khan Names Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as the Only ‘Naturally Beautiful’ Actress in Bollywood

Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan has sparked fresh conversation around beauty standards in Bollywood after joking that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan may be the only actress in the industry who can truly be called “naturally beautiful.”
Farah made the remark during one of her popular YouTube cooking vlogs, known for their candid humour and unfiltered conversations. The light-hearted comment has since gone viral, drawing attention across social media platforms.
Farah Khan’s Comment During Cooking Vlog
The moment unfolded when Farah’s longtime cook, Dilip, complimented her glowing skin and asked her about the secret behind it. Staying true to her witty persona, Farah initially brushed it off by crediting her “natural glow” and “inner beauty.”
Moments later, while addressing viewers during a skincare brand promotion, Farah clarified that the product deserved the credit. Laughing, she said, “Let Dilip think that I am naturally beautiful.”
This led her to comment on the film industry’s beauty standards, where she remarked in Hindi:
“Aishwarya Rai ko chhodkar shayad hi koi naturally beautiful hoga.”
Translated, the statement means, “Except for Aishwarya Rai, hardly anyone is naturally beautiful.”
Beauty Standards and Bollywood
Farah’s comment comes amid growing discussions around cosmetic procedures, filters, skincare routines, and beauty enhancements in the entertainment industry. While she made the statement in a humorous tone, it resonated widely, with many viewers interpreting it as a candid observation on how rare untouched natural beauty has become in mainstream cinema.
She did not name any other actors, making it clear that, in her view, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan stands apart.
Why Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Remains Iconic
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who won the Miss World title in 1994, has long been celebrated for her timeless beauty and screen presence. Over the years, she has starred in acclaimed films such as Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Mohabbatein, Jodhaa Akbar, Dhoom 2, and the Ponniyin Selvan franchise.
Even with fewer film appearances in recent years, Aishwarya continues to command global attention, especially through her regular appearances at the Cannes Film Festival.
Farah Khan on Her Return to Direction
Apart from the viral beauty comment, Farah Khan also shared a major career update in her vlog. She revealed that she plans to begin work on her next directorial venture by the end of this year, once her children leave for college.
Farah added that if she returns to filmmaking, it would be with Shah Rukh Khan.
“If I do direct a film, I will do it with Shah Rukh. Otherwise, I’ll wait and do YouTube,” she said.
Farah last directed a feature film in 2010 (Tees Maar Khan) and was recently seen hosting Celebrity MasterChef (2024–2025).
