The upcoming spy-action sequel Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, has generated extraordinary momentum at the box office even before its full advance booking window opens in India. Early ticket sales and international pre-sales have already pushed the film’s global advance collections past ₹60 crore, positioning it as one of the most anticipated Hindi releases of 2026.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on March 19, 2026, with paid preview shows beginning on March 18.

Strong domestic demand before full bookings open

Early ticketing data indicates massive interest from Indian audiences. By the morning of March 13, the film had sold over 4.7 lakh tickets in India, generating roughly ₹24 crore gross from preview-show advance bookings alone.

Ticket sales have been particularly strong across major multiplex chains. Combined admissions in PVRINOX and Cinepolis crossed 238,000 tickets, and trade trackers expect the number to climb to 350,000–400,000 admissions for preview screenings before release.

If projections hold, the film could earn ₹35–40 crore net from paid previews, potentially setting a new record for premiere show collections in Indian cinema.

Demand has remained strong despite premium ticket pricing. Some luxury screenings in Mumbai reportedly priced tickets as high as ₹3,100, with many of those shows nearing capacity.

Overseas markets drive early momentum

International markets are also contributing significantly to the film’s early earnings.

North America has emerged as the strongest overseas territory, where the film has already crossed USD 2 million in advance sales and is targeting USD 3–4 million for its opening weekend. Preview-show bookings alone have reportedly generated around USD 1 million, with total North American pre-sales approaching USD 3 million.

Additional markets across Europe, Asia and Oceania have collectively contributed close to USD 1 million, pushing global advance collections to approximately ₹60 crore ahead of release.

Industry trackers say the current trajectory places the film in contention with previous overseas performers such as RRR, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, and Animal in terms of early North American demand.

Historic opening day projections

Based on current booking trends, trade estimates suggest the film could record one of the largest openings in Hindi cinema history.

Early projections indicate:

  • ₹35+ crore expected from paid previews in India
  • ₹100+ crore gross potential on the first full day domestically
  • ₹50 crore or more projected from overseas markets

If these estimates materialize, the film could achieve a ₹200 crore worldwide opening day, which would be a first for a Bollywood release.

Strategy includes global re-release of the original film

Ahead of the sequel’s arrival, the original film Dhurandhar has been re-released across about 500 theatres worldwide. Around 250 screens in India and another 250 overseas are screening the film to reignite audience interest.

The first installment was a major box-office success, reportedly grossing more than ₹1,300 crore worldwide and later trending globally on Netflix.

Industry observers note that such large-scale international re-releases of Hindi films remain relatively rare, highlighting the studio’s aggressive marketing push ahead of the sequel.

Cast, story and release scale

The sequel continues the story of undercover spy Jaskirat Singh Rangi, played by Ranveer Singh. The film features a large ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun, with reports suggesting a special appearance by Yami Gautam.

The film will release in five languages — Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, expanding its reach across multiple markets.

Its theatrical debut coincides with the festive window around Gudi Padwa, Ugadi, and the lead-up to Eid al‑Fitr, which could further boost attendance.
