‘Ek Din’ Trailer Out: Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan Lead Magical One-Day Love Story

The trailer of the upcoming romantic drama **Ek Din** has been released, offering a glimpse into a fantasy-tinged love story starring Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan.

Directed by Sunil Pandey, the film marks Pallavi’s debut in Hindi cinema and is produced by Aamir Khan, Mansoor Khan, and Aparna Purohit under Aamir Khan Productions. The movie is scheduled to release in theatres on May 1, 2026.

A Magical Wish Sets the Story in Motion

The trailer introduces a mystical “fortune bell” believed to grant wishes to hopeless lovers. Junaid Khan’s character, Rohan, explains the legend while standing beneath the bell. Looking at Meera, played by Sai Pallavi, he quietly wishes: “Kaash Meera meri ho jaaye, chaahe ek din ke liye hi sahi.”

The bell rings and his wish appears to come true.

The trailer then shifts to a series of tender moments between the two characters as they spend time together across scenic locations. At one point, Meera challenges Rohan to maintain eye contact for a full minute, only to look away shyly. However, the tone later shifts when tension emerges between them, hinting that the relationship may not unfold as simply as it seems.

The trailer ends on a bittersweet note as Meera says, “This is the most beautiful day of my life,” to which Rohan replies that she might not remember it the next day.

Inspired by Thai Film One Day

The romantic drama is an official adaptation of the 2016 Thai film One Day. The story follows a man secretly in love with his colleague who wishes she would spend a single day with him.

Large portions of the film were shot in Japan, particularly in the snowy landscapes of Sapporo, while additional filming took place in Mumbai’s Film City. The international setting plays a key role in shaping the film’s visual atmosphere and narrative.

Sai Pallavi’s Bollywood Debut

A major talking point surrounding the project is Sai Pallavi’s entry into Hindi cinema. The actor, known for her acclaimed performances in South Indian films, takes on the role of Meera in her first Bollywood project.

Her Hindi debut arrives shortly before another high-profile appearance. Pallavi is also set to portray Sita in Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, where she stars opposite Ranbir Kapoor.

A Key Film for Junaid Khan

For Junaid Khan, Ek Din marks his third film as a lead actor. He previously appeared in Maharaj on streaming and the theatrical release Loveyapa.

In the new film, Junaid plays a shy, self-described “haara hua aashiq,” whose unspoken love for his colleague forms the emotional core of the story.

The cast also includes Kunal Kapoor, who appears in the trailer as another key figure connected to Meera.

Music and Creative Team

The film’s music is composed by Ram Sampath, with lyrics by Irshad Kamil. The title track, performed by Arijit Singh, has already attracted attention after its release.

The screenplay is written by Sneha Desai and Spandan Mishra.

Aamir Khan and Mansoor Khan Reunite

The film also marks a professional reunion between Aamir Khan and filmmaker Mansoor Khan, who previously collaborated on several well-known titles including Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Akele Hum Akele Tum, and Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na.

Their renewed collaboration adds to the anticipation around the project, which blends fantasy elements with a classic romantic premise.

Release Date

Ek Din is set to release in theatres worldwide on May 1, 2026.
