Acclaimed filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj has expressed renewed hope of collaborating with superstar Shah Rukh Khan, revealing that he shared a story with the actor during the making of his latest release, O’ Romeo.
In a recent conversation, Bhardwaj confirmed that despite decades in the industry and multiple collaborations with leading actors, he has yet to work with Shah Rukh Khan. However, discussions between the two have been ongoing.
“I Think It Has to Happen”
When asked whether Shah Rukh Khan could enter his cinematic world, Bhardwaj responded candidly:
“I think it (collaboration) has to happen. Main saal mein Shah Rukh se kitni baari kitni stories ke liye baat karta hun (I talk to Shah Rukh so many times throughout the year for so many stories). He always responds to my message, and he’s a lovely person. He’s the greatest charmer of our country.”
The filmmaker went on to praise the actor’s personality and appeal.
“Who doesn’t love Shah Rukh Khan? Let me put it that way. Everyone loves him. And there has to be something so beautiful in him as a person, also, that makes him Shah Rukh Khan.”
Bhardwaj further revealed that he had already made a creative move during the production of O’ Romeo.
“Maine unhe iss film (O’ Romeo) ke dauran bhi ek kahani bheji hui hai aur woh bhi humesha bolte hai ki, ‘Yaar ek film toh honi chayie jo hum dono ko saath mein karni chayie’, but definitely, there has to be one film between Shah Rukh and me. Inshallah, is baar woh miracle ho jaye.”
While no official announcement has been made, Bhardwaj’s remarks confirm that conversations and script exchanges have taken place.
