Ranveer Singh’s much-anticipated return as undercover agent Jaskirat Singh Rangi has officially kickstarted promotions for Dhurandhar: The Revenge, and the teaser has succeeded in doing one thing above all else—getting everyone talking. Released on Tuesday afternoon, the glimpse from Dhurandhar 2 has sparked intense discussion online, with fans closely analysing every frame and debating the makers’ restrained promotional strategy.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the sequel is positioned as the climactic chapter of the Dhurandhar spy universe, which began with the 2025 blockbuster that went on to collect over ₹1300 crore worldwide.

Teaser hints at darker, more intense sequel

The teaser shows Ranveer Singh’s Hamza Ali Mazhari continuing his brutal mission against a Pakistan-based terror network. Gritty visuals, blood-soaked action, and a haunting background score underline the darker tone of the sequel. Brief shots of Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan and Arjun Rampal further add to the intrigue, suggesting that their characters will play a larger role this time around.

While several viewers noted that the teaser largely revisits visuals from the post-credits scene of the first film, many fans felt the approach was deliberate. Supporters praised the makers for holding back major reveals and focusing on mood and atmosphere rather than plot details. For them, the teaser worked as a reminder of the film’s world and stakes rather than a traditional reveal.

First look poster sets the mood

Ahead of the teaser release, Ranveer Singh unveiled the film’s first look poster, officially confirming the title Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The image, dominated by deep red tones, shows Ranveer drenched in rain with an intense, unflinching stare—visually signalling a more ferocious chapter in Hamza’s journey.

Captioning the poster with “Ab Bigadne Ka Waqt Aa Gaya Hai,” Ranveer hinted at his character’s transformation and confirmed the film’s worldwide release on March 19, 2026. The sequel will release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, expanding the franchise’s pan-India reach.

Familiar faces and intriguing possibilities

The sequel once again features a strong ensemble cast, including Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Akshaye Khanna. Ranveer Singh tagging Akshaye Khanna in his announcement post has fueled speculation about the actor’s return, despite his character’s fate in the first film. Fans believe flashbacks or hidden narrative layers could bring back the popular antagonist.

The story resumes with Hamza firmly embedded in Pakistan’s underworld after eliminating Rehman Dakait. His next challenge is said to be Major Iqbal, a ruthless ISI strategist known as Bade Sahab, setting the stage for a high-stakes face-off.

Big release, bigger expectations

Dhurandhar: The Revenge is scheduled to clash at the box office with Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, making March 19, 2026, one of the most competitive release dates of the year. After its theatrical run, the film will stream on JioHotstar, marking a shift from the first part’s Netflix release.

Whether viewers loved or questioned the teaser, it has undeniably reignited excitement around the franchise. With a proven box-office record and a loyal fan base, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about Bollywood releases of 2026.
